Job Description Web Content Manager, Thermo.com Position Summary: Responsible for managing the day-to-day web content and production support for the fishersci.com, and thermofisherscientific.com, websites. This is a hands-on, leadership, position with tremendous impact/visibility within the organization.Primary Responsibilities· Daily management and production of website content for the thermo.com website· Administrator of thermo.com’s Interwoven Content Management System for all Thermo.com Web Editors· Manage a team of designers, web producers, and editors· Develop/provide technical/creative solutions for web/eBusiness issues as the need arises Specific Duties Manage all website content production· Chair regular meetings with all business clients from MarCom, Web Editors, marketing, sales, customer service, product management, etc. regarding their web marketing and content efforts/needs · Ensure that regular content calendars are created and executed · Create and acquire web content as needed· Work with the business units to develop and implement a content strategy· Play a major role in defining design, UI, and standards for the content area’s on fishersci.com’s website Administrator for Interwoven Content Management System for Thermo.com Users· Act as administrator for the Interwoven CMS which will involve establishing/managing user rights and approval workflows, training and setup of users, troubleshooting, etc.· Ensure that all content is reviewed, edited, and published in a timely manner and according to established design standards and internet best practices Manage a team of designers, producers, and editors · Strong writing and editorial skills specific to publishing web content· Ability to manage editorial, creative, and light-technical resources with skills in Photoshop, HTML, JavaScript, DHTML, CSS, Flash, etc.· Ability and willingness to work hands-on in some/all of these capacities Minimum Requirements/Qualifications: · 3-5 years experience managing creative/technical web teams· Content Management System experience (Interwoven a plus)· Able and eager to step in and fix almost any problem that arises, whether it's writing copy or troubleshooting a technical problem· Able to act as a resource who can give useful direction and feedback on anything from user interface to branding to help content· This position will work closely with Marketing, I/S, Finance, Sales, and Customer Service – strong interpersonal, written, and verbal skills are a must· Intimate working knowledge of web tools, technologies and best practices including design, usability, content and reporting· Extensive online production experience and technical knowledge of production needed to interface on a daily-basis with developers and QA· Knowledge of website technologies and first hand experience with Content Management Systems – Interwoven a strong plus Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria: · 3-5 years experience with creating and publishing rich web content (experience with Interwoven CMS a strong plus)· 3-5 years experience managing teams of creative and technical web resources· Hands on web technical and/or creative skills· Ability to manage a high volume of requests from many different sources Education: BachelorsJob Level: Manager
