Vice President, POCT Product Development
Qualifications and Requirements: Masters or PhD + 10-12 years industrial experience towards development of diagnostic kits. Degree in Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or related. Experience in immunoassay based POCT diagnostic kit development is mandatory.Experience in lateral flow assay based diagnostic kits is a strong plus.Demonstrated experience in market driven assay based POCT product development and commercialization.Thorough knowledge of IVD (In-vitro Diagnostics) with specific experience in assay development and optimization for Point-of-Care Test (POCT) systems. Proven history of managing R&D teams in support of commercialization activities. Strong leadership skills, excellent communication skills (oral and written) are expected.Knowledge of Microfluidics or Micro-Total Analysis Systems (mTAS) is a plus but not required.Familiarity with small business operations is a plus.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will lead the product development effort for Siloam’s immunoassay based microfluidic diagnostic kit.Responsible for market oriented product development and optimization of lab-on-a-chip immunoassaysEstablish and validate robust immunoassay protocolsDevelop scaleable manufacturing techniques for incorporation of assay elements on microfluidic lab-on-a-chip Closely work with outside vendors to develop custom antibody setImplement GLP and cGMP policies towards eventual clinical trialOther duties will involve active participation in proposal preparation and submission for federal SBIR and other grants; and managing funded federal/industrial research projects.
Compensation:
This position carries a base salary of $125,000 (annual) with executive stock compensation as deemed by Siloam’s board of directors. Siloam also offers standard benefits such as health and disability insurance, 401(K) program, paid vacation etc.
