Talecris Biotherapeutics has an opportunity at our Clayton, NC facility for a UTILITIES HVAC/REFRIGERATION MAINTENANCE/MASTER MAINTENANCE TECH II.Utilities HVAC/Refrigeration Operator / Technician will be responsible for operating and maintaining all utility services and systems to support production, laboratory, site operations on a continuous basis. This includes adherence to GMP, GLP, Safety, Environmental, and Utility operation and maintenance procedures, documentation of events, both routine and non routine, interface with all site users on utility interruptions and curtailments, troubleshooting, performing some preventative maintenance, and repair. Utility systems include purified water, steam, refrigeration, HVAC, solvent distillation, WWTP, compressed gases, and water systems. All technicians must participate as an active member of the facility emergency response team. Requires an associate degree in a technical field or applicable industry accepted training/education (i.e. military, OEM, etc.) supported by licenses or certifications (Universal refrigeration certification required for Production Support Operators) plus a minimum of 8 years for NCN16 and 3 years for NCN15 of applicable experience in Utility operation and maintenance. Candidate must be willing to demonstrate initiative, be a self-starter, work independently without close supervision, and have good troubleshooting skills and a strong mechanical ability. Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices, OSHA, PSM, engineering documentation and drawings, DCS & PLC control systems, computer based maintenance management systems and logbook data collection systems are preferred. Applicant must be able to pass a physical and wear a respirator. This position would be either rotating 12-hour shift or 8/10 hour day position with nights, weekend and holiday work necessary.
