UNIX Engineer

Location: Columbus, OH 43235 Employment Type: Full Time, Temporary/Contract/Project Reference Code: 100948442 Technisource is looking for a UNIX Engineer.  This opportunity is in the Columbus, OH region for one of our fastests growing clients.  Opportunity will start out as a contract but may go permanent.  Opportunities are endless!  Job Description: Responsible for minor systems enhancements; addition of minor patch, installation of minor third party software, and DNS change within a UNIX environment. Responsible for securing system resources including password maintenance,  new user logon and setup, file access permissions, and data protection procedures. Maintain automated system backups and procedures for computer operations and monitor system disc capacities. Will provide support to operations relating to system and network administration problems. Coordinate with user community scheduling times and user procedures necessary for operating system upgrades and/or maintenance. Assist in streamling daily operations by partnering up with the Operations Team.  Assist in setup and configuration of new systems within UNIX environment.Technical Skills Desired: Hands  on experience working as a System Administrator or Engineer within a UNIX HP-UX, Solaris, and/or Linux environment is desired. 4-6 years experience with HP and IBM server hardware running the Unix operating systems in a Cisco Bay Networks environment.
