Temporary Bioinformatics Programmer
The Temporary/Contract Bioinformatics Programmer will support development of bioinformatics capabilities across Alnylam with emphasis on sample tracking and laboratory information management.
We seek an individual to join our team of top-notch scientists to build bioinformatics capabilities for our in Cambridge, MA facility. You will have the opportunity to join a growing bioinformatics group as part of a research team engaged in diversified therapeutic programs. The primary responsibility is to assist in the development of web-based sample tracking as part of an integrated laboratory management system using PHP and MySQL.
Experience with liquid-, plate-, or tube-handling robotics, Perl or Python, or DNA sequence analysis would be a real plus.
Successful candidates will have a BS/MS, experience with PHP and MySQL and 0-2 years of relevant industry and/or academic programming experience. Proficiency in PHP. Working knowledge of MySQL and database architecture is required. Some knowledge of Subversion would be helpful, but is not required. SQL-Yog (~$100).
