Telecommunications Support Analyst III (Nortel)

ICON Clinical Research is dedicated to providing the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries with exceptional clinical research and biometrics services. The selected candidate will assist with the coordination of telecommunications activities for the ICON Americas offices. You will be responsible for evaluating PBX equipment/software requirements. You will assist/handle projects assigned by the Telecommunications Operations Manager; maintain and manage telecommunications servers and applications; handle sophisticated programming of the PBX as required; maintain and manage telecommunications licensing; resolve issues with the telephone system, coordinating repair/maintenance functions with the appropriate vendor; work with other IT employees to accomplish implementation of new technologies as required; develop and maintain working procedures to be used in the telecommunications group and remote support personnel; research and recommend solutions for telecommunication issues; perform after hours on call duties including responsibility for on site after hours support; process moves, add and change requests for the ICON Americas offices; ensure all equipment and systems are properly backed up; travel periodically for training, seminars and/or support remote telephony activities. The qualified candidate will possess five or more years' telecommunications experience or relevant work experience (Nortel exposure preferred); experience with Nortel Optivity software application preferred; experience with Nortel call center application preferred; IP networking experience preferred; VOIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) experience preferred; experience with PC software applications (MS Word, Excel, Access); ability to work independently, within time constraints; excellent written and communications skills; good organizational and time management skills; ability to absorb and apply information presented; confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive records and information.
