Bridge Laboratories is a US-owned, preclinical contract research organization (CRO) that provides US-level regulatory compliant drug development services globally.  Bridge is headquartered in Gaithersburg, Maryland, with AAALAC accredited lab facilities in the US and Beijing, China. Bridge is known for its extensive work in toxicology; including vaccines, developmental and reproductive toxicology, and safety pharmacology.  Bridge’s facility in China was among the first labs to perform GLP studies for clients worldwide.

We are currently looking for a Technical Trainer who will be located in Gaithersburg, MD.

 

Responsibilities:

·  Evaluates technical skill competency for staff during the training process

·  Trains staff in life and post life procedures such as basic restraint, dosing, sample collection, necropsy and histology techniques for species within areas of expertise

·  Trains staff in proper documentation procedures

·  Follows all applicable SOPs and GLPs and demonstrates understanding of their importance in the toxicology research environment.  Instruct others in importance of GLP, SOP and protocol compliance

·  Demonstrates clear communication and patience during interactions with others in a teaching environment.

·  Assists in the creation of the in life training curriculum.

·  Provides consistent and thorough training for new and existing technical staff, and assure training is documented in accordance with company SOPs

·  Assists with the development of discipline specific training programs for in life operations

·  Recognizes the need for SOP creation and revisions.  Writes and revises SOP within areas of expertise.

·  Supports, complies with and enforces the company Health and Safety procedures.

·  Ability to self direct work priorities

·  Assists in the development of data bases and on line training modules.

·  May work with support teams to design non-discipline specific training programs to meet technical lab operational needs

·  May identify opportunities for process improvement within laboratory operations and participates in process improvement activities.

Requirements:

·  Able to complete assignments with minimal supervision

·  Must be able to follow a pre-designed training plan

·  Able to work with and tolerate laboratory animals.

·  Able to learn and perform precisely, new handling, dosing, bleeding, necropsy or histology techniques/ procedures for all new species, as driven by business directives

·  ALAT Certification desired

·  B.S., B.A. or A.A.S. with strong emphasis in life science is preferred, however may be replaced by extensive lab experience in a toxicology research environment. Also may be replaced by past, proven performance of the aforementioned skills and qualifications.

·  Minimum two years experience in a toxicology laboratory environment.

·  Must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

·  Proficient with basic computer applications, and the Provantis Data Collection System.

·  Proficient in restraint, dosing and bleeding and other specialized animal techniques for multiple species.

·  Ability to interact with staff in a constructive and positive manner. 

· Experienced in training staff in processes and techniques.
