Technical Services Manager

The North America Technical Services Manager provides technical leadership to the North America technical and commercial teams and participates in the strategic planning process and the regional implementation of global technical strategies.  This position interacts daily with regional and global teams and directly with customers.  Supervises a laboratory team of 7-9 professionals. Primary Responsibilities:·  Provide project support and guidance and be responsible for regional adherence to Global Best Practice guidelines.·  Training and development of regional technical and sales teams in processes, products and their applications.  ·  Project management and trouble shooting of customer requirements. ·  Travel to customer and company sites according to business and technical needs. ·  Represent company at external industry events, presenting and promoting the latest technologies and technical capabilities. ·  Provide management oversight to the North America Sample Lab Operation. ·  Responsible for the daily safe operation, maintenance and upkeep of the North America Technical Service Laboratory facilities including specifying and budgeting for equipment purchases and facility upgrades as necessary. Required Skills and Experience: ·  B.S. in Pharmacy, Chemistry or a related field plus 10-15 years of relevant experience, preferably in pharmaceutical industry is required.  Advanced degree in technical discipline strongly preferred. ·  Extensive knowledge of pharmaceutical technology, specifically formulation development and film coating of oral solid dosage forms, is required.  ·  The position requires demonstrated project management ability, excellent problem solving skills, and strong interpersonal and leadership skills.  ·  Excellent written and oral communication skills are required. ·  Travel is required (up to 35%).
