Grifols USA founded in 2000, consists of two divisions: Bioscience, located in Los Angeles, and Diagnostic, located in Miami. Corporate Marketing and Sales and Distribution of Finished products are two of the main functions of this company.
Responsible for providing pre-sales technical and applications support to sales account executives in sales opportunities and events for one or more specific technologies. Duties include qualifying leads by participating in prospecting potential customers, customer discovery during initial sales calls, technical presentations, instrument and reagent demonstrations, addressing technical issues, scientific presentations at events, and providing written technical justifications. Responsible for identifying new applications through customer input and disease market surveillance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1.
Must consistently meet or exceed sales goals for assigned technologies and products, measured by national and territory sales performance, lead generation quantification, and generation of new customers (i.e., cultivating and growing customer base).
2.
Participate in the prospecting of potential customers by identifying key technology centers, thought leaders, and core laboratories for potential interest in specific technologies.
3.
Prepare and present scientific presentations at various events ranging from conferences, user meetings, vendor events, customer-sponsored events and internal trainings.
4.
Develop scientific proof tools, technical content for promotional material, journal article summaries, and reviews for various scientific and technical information found in journals, scientific posters, and expert presentations.
5.
Develop and present technical presentations to potential customers that are customized for the specific customer’s applications needs and areas of interest.
6.
Coordinate and lead pre-sales instrument and applications demonstrations in customer laboratories as well as corporate sites, as appropriate. Includes the coordination of demonstration equipment, supplies and reagents as required.
7.
Provide competitive technical analyses and matrixes for internal use as well as justifications in competitive situations, and include market trends and customer needs.
8.
Develop and maintain technical product, application and market knowledge.
9.
Provide accurate reports and paperwork that include technical and application components of product commercialization plans, market development plans, product- and application-specific national account penetration (as a LAMP account participant), and application and technical components of strategic business plans.
REQUIRED EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

1.
Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology, Biology, Chemistry, or Biochemistry. Advanced degree preferred.
2.
Medical Technologist certification preferred.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
1.
Five (plus) years technical sales specialist experience with a proven focus in electrophoresis.
2.
Three (plus) years experience in a technical and/or applications customer support role and/or Three (plus) years experience in an applications scientist role.
3.
Three (plus) years experience in a clinical laboratory and/or clinical research laboratory with a proven focus in clinical electrophoresis
3.
Expert level proficiency in Microsoft Windows operating systems for PC’s. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and current knowledge of medical LIMs systems.
4.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
