Technical Officer / Food Safety Manager

Technical Officer, Food Safety Manager American Copak Corporation is one of America's largest food, beverage and cosmetic processing and packaging contract manufacturers. We are located in Chatsworth, California and are seeking an experienced Technical Officer. POSITION Successful candidate will be responsible for internal quality control and monitoring sanitation, pest control, allergen control programs and audits. Be able to verify, document, update and maintain all regulatory documentation and specifications for adherence to client and company protocols and government regulations. Coordinate Quality Control team. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Maintains all regulatory documentation and specifications. • Maintains and updates in house documentation and manuals including assisting with production specifications and adherence to protocol. . Monitors quality procedures for laboratory and manufacturing lines. Research, write and update as needed.• Implements any corrective action plans and resolve as needed. • Implements Quality Control hold and release procedures. • Responsible for maintenance and adherence to QAI Organic, Kosher, HALLAL, Health Department, FDA, Sanitation, Pest Control regulations, Allergen control and Nutritional Supplements. OTC Pharmaceutical background a plus but not required. • Responsible for implementation and compliance: SOPs and SSOPs, HACCP and all government regulations including FDA CFR 111 (cGMP, dietary supplements) • Coordinates and communicates with Quality Control and Production departments to facilitate a cohesive and superior production program. • Supervise quality control functions. • Be responsible for all in house and client audits. Perform routine sanitation inspections / audits. • Review daily production records. • Provide all necessary documentation to meet client regulatory standards, procedures and reports. • Additional responsibilities may be required. Skills: Must know, understand and stay current with food safety and production regulations; HACCP, FDA, USDA, Organic, Sanitary, Pest and Allergy control specifications. • Demonstrate strong written and verbal skills. • Be able to communicate with laboratory, production and upper management to resolve quality assurance issues and maintain all in house, client and government regulations. • Must be able to communicate with clients to help resolve any quality assurance requirements. • Must be self-starter with ability to work in a fast-paced environment. • Proficiency in Windows applications. • Ability to work and assist in a team environment. Education: • Minimum BS/BA in related field. • HACCP Certification a Plus Experience: • Minimum of 5 years in food or cosmetic industry with QA experience. We are an equal opportunity employer.
