Job Description Systems Development Manager, Integrated Solutions Position Title: Systems Development Manager, Integrated Solutions Division/Business Unit: Environmental Instruments Division/Radiation Measurement and Security Instruments Location: Roswell, GA USA Reports to: Global Director of Marketing and New Product Development Division Summary: Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Environmental Instruments Division generates over $400 million in annual revenues with approximately 1300 employees. The Radiation Measurement and Security Instruments Business Unit is a major component of this operating group. Core product offerings include both analytic instrumentation and services and are used to detect, measure, and analyze radiation and explosives in various global market segments. Primary markets include nuclear power, security, environmental, medical, and industrial applications The division is headquartered in Franklin, Massachusetts with operations in the US, UK and Germany. Position Summary: The Systems Development Manager, Integrated Solutions, is responsible for the internal and external management of all Integrated Solutions (IS) projects. This includes extensive interface with the Customer to define project requirements, specifications, costing and scheduling. Internally, will be responsible for project prioritization and aligning the resources to ensure on time delivery of the system. In addition, this individual will be the Customer liaison throughout all phases of development, deployment and early stages of support. Key Responsibilities: Will interface with the customers, to develop concrete product requirements and work with the Product Line Manager and the Development Team to successfully deliver new products to the global marketplace in a timely and cost effective manner. Responsible for co-ordination and delivery of all systems projects, and to this end will perform a variety of tasks including setting deadlines, resource allocation, and monitoring and reporting progress of the project. Responsible for maintaining project budget and scope of work requirements. Will play a key role in determining project opportunities, to ensure maximum revenue for the RM&SI business Develop and maintain a complete life cycle plan for the Integrated Solutions product line working with all of the other teams, such as Service, within RM&SI to ensure proper execution Work with the Operations / Sourcing teams to develop forecasts for the product line to successfully attain short lead times and meet the AOP targets Meet / exceed revenue annual operating plan (AOP) for the Integrated Solutions Product Line Qualifications (Experience, Education and Competencies): BS in Engineering or related field PMI designation preferred 10+ years PM experience managing multiple parallel projects and in depth knowledge of the related tools Strong track record (10 plus years) of on time delivery of hardware and software products. Strong understanding of modern technology, including networking, wireless communication, hardware and the hardware lifecycle, software and the software lifecycle Familiarity with radiation detection instruments and methods a plus Strong management skills with the ability to build a team while holding people accountable for performance Experience with building a network of external resources to fill skill voids as well as expand the resources within the team during peaks in demand Creative thinker with the ability to solve problems and see alternate ways of getting the job done Ability to work with other sites and partners to leverage the skills and capabilities to better achieve stated goals Solid educational background A good multitasker Global experience, with strong business acumen Excellent Written / Verbal communication skills Job Requirements: Ability to travel globally for 15%-20% US Citizen due to DOE and government contracts requirements Education: BachelorsJob Level: Manager
