Supervisor (Cell Culture) - (Job Number: 0809761) DescriptionCentocor R&&D USA, a member of Johnson && Johnson's Family of Companies, is recruiting for a Supervisor (Cell Culture), located in Spring House, PA Centocor, Inc. develops innovative biomedicines. The world leader in monoclonal antibody production and technology, Centocor has brought critical biologic therapies to patients suffering from debilitating immune disorders. The Supervisor (Cell Culture) will supervise a team of 3 to 5 Pilot Plant preculture operators. The preculture group is primarily responsible for cGMP pilot plant seed expansion and cell therapy manufacturing operations to generate products for use in clinical trials. For certain products, this individual will plan, schedule, and execute mAb culture activities to meet the demand for clinical supplies and develop and coach direct reports in technical and organizational skills. This person will develop and implement new technologies or processes to improve or expand preculture operations, working with Engineering, Technical Support, Bioprocess Technology groups, among others. This individual will maintain accurate accounts of processing activities in batch records with timely batch record review. This person will be responsible for leading group meetings, representing groups in cross-functional discussions etc., and performing "hands-on" preculture operations as needed for manufacture of monoclonal antibody and cell therapy products. Main activities include organizing and/or executing manufacturing campaigns involving thawing, passaging/expanding cell cultures to be used in bioreactor processes. Organizing and executing cell therapy product manufacture, vialing, labeling, etc. is an important function as well. The Supervisor (Cell Culture) will also write and revise documents to reflect manufacturing process while supporting/assisting various GMP processing activities. This individual will be responsible for ordering laboratory supplies and equipment, as needed, and assist in pre-culture, bioreactor and activities for monoclonal antibodies and/or other proteins. This person will also support other GLP/GMP tasks as needed while conducting semi-annual and year-end reviews/objectives for team members. A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree with at least 5 years of cell culture or related experience, or a Master's Degree with a minimum of 2 years related experience is required. A Degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or a related engineering discipline is preferred. Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills are highly desired. Outstanding written and oral communication skills are strongly preferred. Knowledge of cGMP is a must. Experience in a supervisory level is a plus.
