The Client: Our client is a reputed professional services organization supporting leading corporations in the pharmaceutical industry. The company specializes in the development and support of databases, business intelligence tools, analytics tools and decision support systems for its clients. The company is able to deliver exceptional value to its customers given it’s deep knowledge of the intricacies of the pharmaceutical supply chain.   We are looking for an outstanding individual for a Supervising Consultant position for our Client, focusing on working on-site in a client-oriented, professional services environment, where the primary goal is to develop feasible solutions to complex business issues for the client.   This is an outstanding opportunity to:  Â· Work with a growing consulting firm and make a significant impact on the business of the firm. Â· Build a long term relationship with one of the largest clients of the Company in an autonomous, on-site role. Â· Be associated with a professional company with clear vision, relaxed work culture and extremely bright team of executives and consultants. Â· Significantly reduce travel time while continuing in a Consultant role.     The Role: The Supervising Consultant will be assigned to client organizations for an extended period of time, in order to develop a thorough understanding of the client’s needs and environment.   Primary Responsibilities: Â§ Project management: Manage existing portfolio of projects and maintenance agreements. This includes involvement in all phases of projects, from initial definition, scoping and budgeting to execution, maintenance and closeout.   Projects typically managed include Data-Mining and analysis, Application Development (supply chain metrics), Technology Selection, Data Warehousing/Analytical Solutions, Client Technology Support, Staff Management, Business Development, Methodology and Toolkit Development projects. The Supervising Consultant will lead and supervise a project team of developers, and also individual contributors in areas requiring technical or subject matter expertise. He/she will be responsible for managing the day to day activities of the project teams in terms of technical oversight, problem resolution and resource scheduling. Â§ Business Development: Growing total sales within client services organization. This includes analyzing client business processes for improvement opportunities, identifying challenges that the client is not aware of and presenting a wining solution that results in renewed or new business.  Â§ Customer Satisfaction: Manage customer relationship and expectations. He/she will be the lead relationship person on behalf of the Client at the business unit and project level.   Performance Expectations: Â§ First 3 months:  · Gain an understanding of the architecture of the projects.· Attend meetings to receive input from client on pain points· Build relationships with 20+ key individuals spanning several departments of client site. Â§ 3-6 months:   Â· Manage maintenance/trust of existing projects· Develop new projects · Involvement in strategic planning and understand business requirements to architect and design quality products Â§ 6 – 12 months:  Â· Ramp up in sales volume ($.5M dollars in new projects) · Extension of Organon’s influence in Sr. VP Level · Expand work over various departments – more visibility within the client site   The Candidate: Meeting or exceeding the following criteria would mean we have the ideal candidate for the job! The Supervising Consultant must be both a business and a technology expert. On the business side, he/she must have a firm grasp of business fundamentals and organizational issues. On the technology side, he/she must understand client/server technologies, software development practices and dynamics, and understand how organizations effectively manage their technology portfolio. Professional Competencies: · 5+ years of consultancy and project management experience in large and mid sized organizations. Working closely with business units and clients on small and large projects.· Drug distribution industry experience. Experience in creating and maintaining decision-support systems and other business applications for Fortune 500 companies. Able to architect, design and develop business intelligence, data marts and data warehousing solutions for reporting and decision support. Strong experience with Microsoft technologies: SQL Server 2005, .Net, Windows Forms. Expert-level proficiency in SQL and ETL tools required. Large scale integration experience using Microsoft technologies. Experience supporting SAAS solutions and SOA architecture preferred.· Strong familiarity with a variety of enterprise application and workflow systems - Oracle, DB2, SAP, PeopleSoft, Salesforce.com, etc.· Engineering background (ME) and PMP certification. Advanced degree or MBA or Quality certification (Six Sigma, PCMM, CMM) a plus.    Personal Characteristics:  Effective business leader. Must display strong business acumen with an ability to quickly get his/her finger on the pulse of the business and market. Should be perceived to add value to the business processes in the client organization. Very Agile. Must have the ability to track and analyze multiple projects simultaneously and multi task in this role.· Strong analytical and critical thinking skills: Must be able to analyze and assess data and unfamiliar information. Also must be able to organize and evaluate incomplete information and manage ambiguity.· Demonstrated organizational skills:  Ability to organize a project into tasks, delegate the tasks to project team members, manage and coordinate task completion and prioritize multiple tasks under pressure of deadline.  Â· Strong and confident communicator/presenter with an ability to play an external facing role in the client company. Strong interpersonal and team skills: Ability to work professionally and effectively with all levels within the client organization by networking and building rapport. Demonstrate strong team leadership for his/her project teams.  Compensation, Travel: Highly competitive base and bonus package commensurate with experience and domain expertise.   Must be based out of the Greater San Francisco area.
