Strategic Sourcing Engineer

Primary Function: Responsible for leading supplier selections, managing supplier relationships and developing sourcing roadmaps focusing on product quality, supply continuity and spend productivity. This position requires a solid understanding of manufacturing/engineering/supply chain operational functions, proven leadership skills and effective communication skills to facilitate and lead strategic sourcing and supply related initiatives with internal as well as external business partners. Responsibilities: - Identify and manage opportunities in the supply chain utilizing process excellence methodologies to drive continuous improvement in cost and value for existing products. - Develop and implement sourcing strategies to maintain supply continuity and alignment with product life cycles. - Drive supplier selection initiatives for new product introductions. - Develop and monitor key performance indicators to promote supplier relationship management activities with an end focus on customer satisfaction. - Work collaboratively with cross-functional groups to support strategic objective to meet multiple business unit goals.
Education and/or Experience: - Bachelor Degree in a technical area or Bachelor of Science in Engineering preferred. - Minimum 5 years of experience working in Procurement, Operations, Engineering or related field required. - Must demonstrate intermediate to advanced level proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel). - Approximately 25% travel (international and/or domestic). - Excellent leadership, communication and negotiating skills required. - Medical device experience preferred. - CPM (Certified Purchasing Manager) certification or equivalent preferred. - ERP applications background a plus. Experience with Oracle a plus
