To assist us with the growth of our Vision Care business, we are seeking a Staff Scientist. Responsibilities include: Develop validated analytical methods that meet accepted industry standards within a timeframe identified by the project team.Support the project team by conducting assays until methods can be validated and transferred for routine analysis.Must be able to keep excellent records since these documents may be used to support new product submissions to regulatory agencies.Work with universities and outside contract labs to develop methods or characterize materials when requirements exceed internal resources.Actively participate as a member of the project team by accurately communicating assay development status and acting as a liaison to servicesprovided by the Analytical Chemistry group.Excellent documentation practices of all work so that learnings are transferred to others, along with effective verbal and written communicationto teams and organization. Qualified candidates for this position will have: Minimum of a Ph.D. or MS degree in Analytical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry or related sciences with a strong background in organic chemistry and 3 plus years of experience in developing analytical methods for the pharmaceutical and/or medical device industry. Must have experience in writing analytical method validation and transfer protocols that meet ICH, ISO, and cGMP guidance documents. Experience in providing analytical chemistry documentation in support of 510k, PMA, PAI, IND, and NDA submissions to the FDA and international regulatory agencies. Demonstrated expertise in developing methods using HPLC, GC, Mass Spectrocopy, and other modern analytical techniques. Knowledge of statistical methods of analysis, and experimental design is required.Experience with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) such as LabWare is an advantage.Ability to coordinate lab personnel and instrumentation to maximize laboratory efficiency.Experience with providing analytical support to formulation projects.
