Overview: Horizon Technology is a growing analytical instrument company specializing in automated sample preparation solutions. The Company currently has an exciting career opportunity for a high energy, results and team oriented Staff/Cost Accountant. This position will be exposed to multiple areas of accounting and financial reporting and will participate in day to day operations, multiple aspects of the month end close and the preparation of the financial reporting package.

Responsibilities:
·        Prepare cost accounting analyses and reports, including inventory reconciliation, standard cost variance (PPV) and product gross margin.
·        Balance Sheet account reconciliations.
·        Maintain the standard costs for all products and BOM’s.
·        Fixed Assets.
·        Commissions.
·        Quarterly Sales and Use tax reporting.
·        Accounts Receivable – collections.
·        Analyze actual results against the budget/forecast.
·        Month end close and preparation of journal entries.
·        Year end close, tax workpapers and audit.
·        Other projects as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:Â
·        3-5 years of accounting and finance experience in a manufacturing environment.
·        Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
                        ·        Ability to utilize Costing and Inventory Modules of an ERP system (ProfitKey).
·        Strong understanding of general accounting principles.
·        Excellent interpersonal, verbal/written communication.
·        Ability to keep sensitive information confidential.
