Sr. Technologist, Systems Support Relationship Marketing

The applicant will be responsible for providing direction on architecture, mentoring the development team on best practices, as well as Commercial IT and Novartis standards. The senior technologist will be involved in the full lifecycle of relationship marketing programs and be able to architect solutions that can be extended and reused. The candidate should have strong analytical abilities and be able work with the marketing team on collecting requirements. Principals Only!QualificationsPROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS · Bachelors in Computer Science, Mathematics or Engineering. · Over 6 years of J2EE development experience, this should include the consumption and development of J2EE web services· Critical technologies include Java / J2EE / Perl, Unix scripting, XML, XSL, Java Server Pages (JSP), JDBC database connectivity, SOAP, Java Servlets, and JMS messaging· Proficiency in hibernate as well as web frameworks such as Struts or Spring· Proficient in Relational Databases such as Oracle · Experience working in a UNIX environment. Solaris 9 / 10· FTP / SFTP Scripting · Sound knowledge of software design patterns required· Knowledge of Tibco BusinessWorks or other business process/workflow tools will be a plus· Experience leading technical team as well as architectural discussionsNice to have: · Experience using, AJAX, business rule engines (blaze, fuego etc). · Experience developing and supporting BEA Portal framework as well as JSR compliant portlets· Agile development experience · Exposure to automated build systems and unit testing, Novartis is committed to embracing and leveraging diverse backgrounds.
