Position Overview:
Helicos seeks a Sr. Software Engineer to implement critical embedded applications and control algorithms necessary for reliable operation of the Heliscope as well as participate in iterative development of Heliscope.
Primary Responsibilities:
•Implement critical embedded applications and control algorithms necessary for reliable operation of the Heliscope
•Agile/iterative software development, including source control and unit test in a product environment
•Develop web based user interface for instrument setup, monitoring, results reporting and data download.
Qualifications
•Experience in developing control software for real time instrumentation including device interface, control algorithms and user interface
•C#, some C++
•Ability to see the “large picture” and understand design, implementation, performance tradeoffs as well as good object oriented design skills
•Experience with Linux and developing Web Interfaces to real time instrumentation is preferred
•A degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering along with 4 year experience
