More information can be found at www.covidien.com The R&D Engineer/Surface Modeling Expert is responsible for creation and innovation which leads to the development and introduction of new technologies/products/processes. The R&D Engineer/Surface Modeling Expert generally works independently under some supervision. Responsibilities may include: a) creation of complex 3D surface and solid models in Pro/E; b) translation of Industrial Design concepts/sketches into Pro/E surface/solid models; c) mechanical design, component/assembly development; d) material selection/evaluation; and e) interaction with medical professionals and vendors.Requirements: B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent background/experience is required. At least 3 years of engineering design practice with deep expertise in Pro/E surface modeling and surface/solid integration, including incorporation of complex surfaces from other CAD systems, required. Understanding of user-based design issues required.
