Sr. Quality Control Inspector
DermaPort (www.dermaport.com), , located in Santa Clarita, California, was founded in 2005 to create a family of percutaneous access devices. These devices will enable convenient and safe access to the body for a variety of applications in several important fields of medicine. At DermaPort, our mission is to develop, manufacture, and market percutaneous access devices incorporating new technology permitting safe repeated access to the body.

Responsible for activities in support of the quality control processes. The selected candidate will maintain and ensure quality standards for all aspects of the manufacturing process. Duties include the following:
· Inspection of received parts, first articles, in-process inspections and final product inspection of production parts to ensure compliance with the quality requirements.
· This individual must be able to read parts lists, manufacturing drawings, and engineering change notices.
· This position will assist with supplier quality issues and communicate all QC issues to manufacturing. They will perform product audits and assist in the corrective action process.
· Performs inspections, checks, and tests for quality control for the manufacture of products. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a regulated environment.
· Requires the ability to learn and meet established department specific work instructions.
· Work demands a high degree of accuracy and close tolerance inspection.
· Understands accuracy and precision of inspection equipment, knowledge and use of optical comparator is essential.
· Demonstrates competency in use of attribute and variable acceptance sampling methods.
· Typically performs set-up work for performing checks and measurements on various mechanical devices.
· May be required to understand and demonstrate proficiency in geometric tolerancing.
· Addresses quality issues related to non-conforming material or components, and obtain timely disposition in order to maintain production flow
· Participates in continuous improvement efforts. Supports and helps to implement new ideas.
· Possesses the ability to use the computer system for basic departmental functions.
· Performs detail-oriented tasks utilizing intermediate language and math skills.
Education and Experience:
Candidates require a High School Education and 5 years of relevant experience in a regulated industry. They must have a working knowledge of optical comparators. Candidates must also possess the ability to use computers with knowledge of the Microsoft Office products
