IRIS International, Inc., a profitable and dynamic, publicly traded, In-vitro Diagnostics Company has a growth opportunity for a Sr. Marketing Manager, Hematology / Molecular in our corporate offices located in Chatsworth, CA.
IRIS International is a leader in automated urinalysis technology with its workstations installed in major medical institutions throughout the world. IRIS International manufactures the only clinical analyzers, which use real-time video flow imaging, displaying microscopic images on a video screen. The systems are operated by touch screen interfaces pioneered by the Company for use in urinalysis and microscopic urinalysis of body fluids. The Company’s imaging systems use patented and proprietary Automate Intelligent Microscopy (AIM) technology for automating microscopic procedures, enabling clinical laboratory technologists to rapidly and efficiently analyze and process specimens automatically, significantly reducing the costly and time-consuming manual steps required for microscopic analysis.

Basic Job Function
Position entails full product line management responsible for the implementation and management of two product line strategies, Hematology and Molecular. Key activities include market analysis, product planning, product launches, promotion, sales support, product exhibition and organization of scientific symposia.
Responsibilities and Duties:Responsible for generation and implementation of an annual strategic and tactical marketing plan, which meet the annual sales goals of the individual's assigned.Conduct market analyses identifying Int'l environmental/regulatory status, new market segments, competition, customer feedback, product enhancement requirements, positioning modifications and new product opportunities.Responsible for pre-launch marketing activities, which include development of marketing specs/design goals, packaging specs, product documentation and unit forecasting.Participate in and with cross-functional project teams, R&D, manufacturing and quality assurance, to ensure quality product development on a timely basis within marketing specifications.Development of comprehensive launch plans which address product positioning, pricing, distribution, promotion, collateral materials/literature, training, product & sales support, customer service, sales forecasting, expense budget and tracking.Implement integrated marketing campaigns employing the optimum mix of advertising, PR, sales promotion, direct mail, reference networking, product exhibition and educational programs.Monitor success of marketing programs and direct sales efforts, responding with necessary modifications and/or reinforcement tactics to achieve goals.Prepare monthly sales, budget and activity reports and quarterly action plans.Lead the selling effort through delivery of sales training presentations, convention support, sales, troubleshooting, regular customer contact and continuous improvement of sales tools.
Education:
BA/BS degree in science/engineering with minimum of both 2+ years as a lab technician or direct sales experience, and 3+ years of marketing in the healthcare field, preferably in diagnostics
An advanced degree, MS or MBA, would be considered a plus.
Experience:Skilled in preparing and implementing marketing plans and product launches whereby individual was responsible for program successStrong track record of success in both marketing and sales endeavorsKnowledge of medical market with diagnostic experience a big plusStrong interpersonal and communications skills (excellent writing and presentation skill a must)Sales and/or Marketing experience in the Hematology / Flow Cytometry segment is a big plusSales and/or marketing experience in the molecular segment would be nice to have, but not necessary
Specific Skills and Knowledge:
Reasonable knowledge of the clinical laboratory; lab experience a plus
Computer: Word, Power Point and Excel; Statistics competence
