Position Overview
In this hands-on role, the Sr. Manager Infrastructure is responsible for all aspects of IT infrastructure, including enterprise and local architecture, operations, communication systems (including networking, telecom and e-mail), administration/engineering, databases, security, and new technology strategies. The successful candidate will revise infrastructure strategy and solutions as technology evolves, in alignment with business needs, and serve as a senior technical resource and point of escalation for complex issues.
As a member of the IT Leadership Team, the Sr. Manager Infrastructure will establish and enforce overall strategy, policies, procedures and processes pertaining to IT infrastructure. Additionally, the selected individual will develop long-range goals and objectives to create an efficient and cost-effective operation; advise other IT leadership concerning IT trends, technical problems, need for equipment, capacity planning and priorities; and collaborate with business/IT partners and active members of project review boards, to ensure new and existing global/local solutions are in compliance with technology standards and policies.
Education Requirements
B.A./B.S. in Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline, or the equivalent knowledge and experience, is required. M.A./M.S. is preferred.
Experience Requirements
Candidate must possess at least 10 years of technical experience including at least 5 years in a managerial capacity. Excellent organizational and communication skills as well as effective problem analysis and resolution abilities are necessary. Strong leadership and project management skills are a must. Experience in an FDA regulated environment as well as experience with infrastructure integrations and/or disintegrations due to mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures is desired.
