Sr. Director, Human Resources
Genta Incorporated, an oncology focused pharmaceutical company, seeks a strong HR leader to join its senior management team and literally build the organization. This is a unique opportunity to partner with management and put your fingerprint on the entire hiring process as we staff up to launch our key product – Genasense. Our future success depends on hiring the right team and we need the right HR professional to make this happen. This position reports to the COO and will be responsible for the entire HR function including: staffing, compensation, benefits, employee relations, equal employment opportunity, training & development and strategic planning.
Responsibilities:
Staffing: Establish and implement a strategic recruitment plan to meet business objectives during the launch of a new product. Assure management needs for personnel are met in a timely and efficient manner.
· Benefits: Provide competitive and cost effective benefits to Company employees and effectively communicate benefit programs to all employees.
· Compensation: Partner with CEO in working with Compensation Committee to assure the Company maintains a competitive compensation strategy that attracts, rewards and retains qualified employees based on qualifications and performance.
· Employee Relations: Facilitate a climate of open and honest communication, and partner with senior management to foster a positive team-based culture.
· Ensure appropriate Human Resources policies and procedures are in place to effectively communicate with and manage employees.
· Identify organizational training and development needs, and coordinate resources to address these needs.

Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required; advanced degree preferred.15+ years Human Resources experience with demonstrated ability to effectively direct all Human Resources activities and proven ability to orchestrate a staffing plan in a dynamic environment where critical business objectives are at stake. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to creatively partner with management to address organizational issues and business needs.Strong knowledge of various laws in the following areas: Benefits, employment, equal employment opportunity, compensation, Human Resources-related legislation.Strong client relations skills and demonstrated ability to credibly interact with and support senior management.Superior written and verbal communication skills, and strong interpersonal capability.Prior biotechnology/pharmaceutical Human Resources experience.Solid computer skills.
Travel Requirements: Approximately 5% domestic overnight travel.
