Sr. Analyst, Corporate Reporting

DescriptionThis position is effectively a hybrid role to support both the Corporate Reporting group and the Business Development and Licensing (“BD&L”) group. The candidate will serve as a liaison for the Corporate Controller’s Organization with BD&L, with a primary focus on the deal modeling process for potential acquisitions, divestitures and licensing arrangements. This position will report to Director of Corporate Reporting, with a dotted line to the Vice President of BD&L. Key responsibilities will be as follows:•Manage the BD&L valuation model used for all acquisitions and licensing arrangements, including setting key assumptions, reviewing pro forma models submitted by the business units to support specific transactions and summarizing findings and results to management.•Assist the Director of Corporate Reporting in working with external valuation consultants to obtain and review accounting valuations for all completed acquisitions. Primary responsibility will be to bridge the results of the internal model with the findings of the external consultants.•Significant participation in the BD&L group’s efforts to adjust all internal modeling and deal review to conform to the new acquisition accounting requirements under FAS 141R.•Assist the BD&L group with the preparation of presentations and other key materials given to the Board of Directors to support the approval of new transactions.•Assist the Vice President of BD&L and the Director of Corporate Reporting in the review of specific transaction agreements, term sheets and deal structures for prospective transactions.•Assist the Corporate Reporting group with the preparation of the annual SFAS #142 valuation.Skills/Abilities Needed: •Strong written and verbal communications skills•Strong interpersonal skills (independence and confidence to interact with Corporate executives as well as Division management)•Ability to manage and prioritize tasks from various departments simultaneously•Detail oriented•Analytic aptitude•Ability to react to and meet time sensitive deadlines on short notice•Team playerRequirements: Requirements•4-6 years experience•Undergraduate degree in accounting or finance•CPA not required but familiarity with U.S. GAAP accounting is a must •MBA preferred•Previous experience with preparation/review of valuation models•Previous finance experience (Accounting, FP&A, Audit) with a large publically traded company (preferably $5B or greater)•Strong Microsoft Excel skills•Hyperion Enterprise and Retrieve a plusTo apply online, please use the following link: Apply To Covidien Click here to see all “Covidien” opportunities Visit our web site to learn more about Covidien EMAIL THIS JOB TO A FRIENDCOVIDIEN, COVIDIEN with Logo and "positive results for life" are trademarks of Covidien AG. ©2007 Covidien AG or its affiliate.
