Sr Accountant/Analyst

Position Description:

The Senior GL Accountant provides advanced accounting and analytical support for Inverness Medical NA, Inc. These activities relate primarily to General ledger Adjustment, Accruals and reconciliations to support the Month-End Close process. Tasks and responsibilities:•Assists in the completion of the audit and required reporting. •Assists in the preparation of the monthly financial reporting package. •Maintains general ledger reports and maintains accounts in general ledger software. •Follows an ongoing review process in areas of responsibilities to assure the accuracy of financial records. •Performs other accounting activities and special projects as assigned. •Prepares intercompany comfirmations and reconciliations. •Prepares journal entries with adequate supporting documentation in an accurateand timely manner. •Reconciles assigned balance sheet accounts in a timely and accurate manner•Performs ad hoc financial analysis as needed•Proposes, tests and documents SAP and other system enhancements•Participates in preparations of reports, budgets and forecasts as needed•Reviews journal entries for other staff•Requires an advanced degree in finance or accounting

Qualifications:

Required educational background:Advanced Degree in Finance or Accounting, with 5+ years of accounting experience. Intermediate to advanced Excel is preferred. Applicant should be comfortable with complex spreadsheet tasks. Additional experience with SAP, SAP BW or equivalent ERP and reporting tools is preferredPreferred experiential background:Healthcare industry experience is preferred but not required.
