Join "The Easiest Company to do Business With!" The Sales Specialist- Central Region is responsible for achieving sales and gross profit goals of the assigned EMD life science and biotech product lines within the Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, and portions of northern Iowa and Illinois regions.Account emphasis is on the Minneapolis, Madison, and northern Illinois areas. Primary responsibility is to drive sales growth while maintaining existing business within the territory in order to meet or exceed goals. Candidate must possess effective sales techniques, business acumen, and presentation skills to successfully close sales of assigned products. The Sales Specialist serves as the catalyst for new business development within assigned territory to grow existing accounts and developing new business. Specific responsibilities include: · Ability to prioritize and manage assigned sales territory and product portfolio to consistently meet or exceed established revenue goals,· Devise and execute business plans and strategies to establish new account sales and expanding existing account sales,· Utilize product expertise and application knowledge to successfully conduct effective consultative selling presentations,· Complete and submit sales reports and documentation in a timely and efficient manner,· Monitors product performance, market needs and trends, and industry activities in recommending strategic objectives with customers and future product development, · Developing and fostering business relationships with customers and distributors, with focus and prioritization on contacts with high growth potential. Support local collaboration efforts of Territory Managers.· Must possess time and territory skills needed to effectively manage travel and expenses.· Ability for 30 - 50% travel. REQUIREMENTS:To qualify for this position, an individual must possess any combination of experience and education that would likely produce the desired job outcomes. Specific requirements include: · Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry, Immunology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology or related life science major is required. A master's degree or Ph.D. is preferred.· Current technical and scientific application knowledge in one or more of these areas: Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, and Immunology. · 2-5 years of laboratory experience in a life science setting.· 2-5 years of sales experience with a life science reagent product line is highly desirable.· Key account and territory management experience with academic, medical school, industrial, and where applicable, government accounts, is desirable.· 2-3 years experience managing distribution channel relations. · Ability to communicate technical details to customers and reps utilizing developed verbal and written communication skills. · Requires 30-50% travel depending on territory.
