Software Application Specialist
San Francisco/Sacramento, CA - The Software Applications Specialist will increase software sales and ensure customer satisfaction through expert consultation, carefully planned implementation and post sales activities. EOE M/F/D/V
* Call on customers to introduce and sell assigned Olympus products including developing and generating sales leads and qualifying leads for purchase.
* Conduct product set up and demonstrations with key decision-makers. Provide meeting and trade show support as required.
* Work closely with customers, local sales representatives, product engineers, marketing managers, administrative, and other field support personnel to provide the highest level of customer support and satisfaction. Provide necessary and appropriate after-sales service to accounts, utilizing each opportunity to discover and pursue additional business.
* Provide accurate and timely quotations through needs assessments provided through customer interviews and in field site surveys. A high degree of accuracy is to be maintained through effort to stay current with product and technology changes through consultation with Marketing, Software Development, Sales and Field Service counterparts.
* Develop and maintain effective knowledge of competitive products, strategies, and organizations through the use of in house literature, on the job training, marketing material, and sales brochures. Strategize with sales management, local sales reps and field service engineers to maximize Olympus business opportunities.
* Provide input to Software Applications Sales Manager, Sales and Field Service Engineer (FSE) counterparts, Marketing organization and others as requested regarding sales, sales forecast, and competitive activity.
* Escalate software dissatisfaction and take problem solving ownership through appropriate parties when customer satisfaction is jeopardized and provide resolution by conferring with and supporting the local FSE, TAC and software development. Perform such duties in house, over the telephone, and on site as required.
* Establish and maintain relationships with key personnel in assigned accounts to remain current with customer growth, new functionality requests, support, and on going issues (i.e. installations, upgrades, persistent problems).
* Assist in the creation/updating of training content and curriculum under Management's direction and conduct and assist with formal and informal training to customers on software products. Attend/complete more advanced specialized Network Training Curriculum.
* Maintain an accurate contact management database through timely database entry, FSR submission and other ad hoc queries to reflect the sales cycle and service history involvement for all customers.
* Establish a communication schedule with assigned Software Application Sales Manager, MSG sales counterparts and Service Managers, to exchange information on daily and weekly activities. Meet all assigned targets and goals set by Corporate, Regional and Area Managers.
* Assist in the planning and design of endoscopy room layouts with respect to power and HVAC requirements for LAN's, WAN's, Gateways, video matrices, and special projects as directed.
* Install hardware and software and provide high-level post installation support including user education, customer satisfaction monitoring, and high-level troubleshooting assistance along with FSE.
* Perform other related duties as assigned.

* Associate's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Bio Medical, Business or Computer Science or equivalent knowledge is required. Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
* Minimum five years of experience in field support and/or software sales is required.
* Must be proficient in both technical and sales-related job functions, with a demonstrated ability to sell assigned products.
* Must possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
*Solid working knowledge of electronics, personal computer hardware and software, and LAN concepts is highly desirable.
* Must have a successful completion of A+ Certification and Network Administration courses.
* Demonstrated decision making ability towards solving problems, while working under pressure and effectively communicate these solutions to co workers and customers is essential.
* Must be a self-starter, requiring minimal supervision and have a high degree of personal organization.
* Demonstrated ability to time manage multiple requests for resources from both internal and external customers is desirable.
* Must be able to work flexible hours when required.
* Valid driver's license is required.
