Senior Software Engineer - LipoSonix

Overview: This position designs, develops, maintains and troubleshoots software programs for embedded systems and/or applications in our products, or for testing our products. It involves the technical design, architecture and application of various technical approaches and technologies in product development and test efforts.

Responsibilities: • Develops automated test
• Works on PC applications to support product interactions
• Defines, develops, and integrates embedded software
• Carries out system integration of hardware and software
• Holds and participates in technical design reviews

Qualifications:

• Strong experience with C/C++
• Experience with Visual Basic
• Development experience with embedded and x86 platforms
• Low-level device driver implementation experience
• Hands-on experience with typical electronics laboratory test equipment
• Effective communication and documentation skills
• A self-motivated and results-oriented individual
• Develops complex technical design projects
• An expert level working knowledge of software engineering concepts/principals
• Acts as a mentor to Software Engineers
• Takes on additional leadership roles as required to drive improvements to any and all aspects of LipoSonix
• Must have experience in managing the full life cycle of a project


Desired Skills:
• Background in medical device development
• Background in diagnostic or therapeutic ultrasound
• Familiarity with requirements for formal testability
• Control system design and implementation
• Graphics programming


This position requires a BS degree in computer science or engineering, or equivalent, plus a minimum of five years experience programming in a variety of languages, including object-oriented languages and at least two of the following: C/C++, assembly language, Perl, XML, Java, or Visual Basic.
