Are you a senior-level cell biologist with a strong background in cell and molecular biology, with expertise in high-content cellular and tissue analysis, flow cytometry, or cellular imaging in an industrial environment?  Do you enjoy exploring new approaches to solving problems, using the newest technologies?

CompuCyte Corporation develops, manufactures, and markets advanced quantitative imaging cytometry instrumentation for cell- and tissue-based analysis. Our laser scanning technology and advanced software tools give investigators the power to combine high-content quantitative data analysis with images (morphology), for the most demanding research applications in biomarker discovery, target validation, drug safety testing, toxicology, and molecular pathology.

We are currently looking for a Senior Applications Scientist to work with our customers, undertaking cell- and tissue-based research analyses and studies, with the goal of expanding the range of applications for CompuCyte instrumentation.  This is an excellent opportunity to interact with key scientists from the world’s leading research institutions and pharmaceutical companies, taking responsibility for the Company's scientific activities, including:

·         Undertaking cell- and tissue-based research analyses and studies to expand the range of applications for CompuCyte instrumentation, and preparing publications and presentations of the results

·         Performing feasibility studies for potential customers and providing them with reports based on data generated from the studies

·         Developing protocols and performing contract studies, particularly relating to pharmacodynamic marker evaluation in biomarker discovery programs and pre-clinical trials

To be successful in this position, you will be a self-starter and have:

·         An advanced degree in the biological sciences with a minimum of five years of hands-on experience in flow cytometry, cellular imaging, or a related biomedical field

·         A deep knowledge of appropriate scientific methods and techniques. Laboratory experience in one or more of the following is preferred: cellular and molecular biology, cellular immunology, high-content cellular and tissue analysis, cell surface and intracellular fluorescence labeling, FISH analysis

·         A portfolio of peer-reviewed publications and scientific presentations

·         Demonstrated ability to fully master and understand the operations of complex optical and mechanical research instrumentation, and to communicate this knowledge to others

·         Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, both oral and written, appropriate for a leadership position

This position is based in our new facilities in Westwood, Massachusetts and will involve some travel for presentations and seminars.
