Senior .NET Developer
POET, the largest ethanol producer in the world according to the Renewable Fuels Association, is an established leader in the biorefining industry through project development, design and construction, research and development, plant management, and marketing. The 20-year old company currently operates 24 production facilities in the United States with four more in construction or under development. The company produces and markets more than 1.4 billion gallons of ethanol annually.
The Sr. .NET Developer will design, code, test, support and implement applications that will bring the benefits of online transaction services related to a commodities and logistics business model. Assist in coordinating the efforts of a team to implement high quality software applications, enhancements, and integrations.
Essential FunctionsDesign and develop Windows Forms based .NET solutions for business applications based on .NET 2.0/3.0/3.5 using Visual Studio 2005/2008.Responsible for successfully designing and delivering quality software application solutions on time. Also serves as a subject matter expert for the said application.Extensive experience in development with VB.NET and C#. Have an understanding of Service-oriented Architecture (SOA) principles and best practices in solution architecture and design. Have development experience in WCF, WF concepts. Develop architecture document and design artifacts using Object-oriented Analysis and Design techniques and UML notations and tools. Adhere to the version control system, build and release processes etc as prescribed for the project. Conduct design and code walk-through for review and incorporate feedback into design and code. Perform unit and integration tests and resolve any resulting issues/bugs. Execute performance and load tests on applications and identify problems. Work with the Project Managers to identify potential risks in delivery and propose options to mitigate/minimize technical risks and issues. Assists in the resolution of test and production release issues.Works with internal departments and IT Business Analyst to manage feedback and production improvements.Assists with Product Roadmap definitions as required.Understands and adheres to software change control procedures.Communicates effectively at senior, managerial, and technical levels and clearly presents approaches and findings related to resolving objectives.Proactively assess new technologies to enhance the development process and environment.Regular communication regarding project status.Proactively raises any project issues that may put the project in jeopardy.Assist in more complex projects/tasks that may involve multiple systems interactions or high risk and may require multiple developers to accomplish the desired needs. Working with business unit and Business Analyst to prioritize and rationalize the identified needs/requirements.Work with internal teams to better understand technology needed to create business process efficiencies.Able to work on, and keep track of, multiple projects with limited supervision.Critical Skills:
· Extensive hands-on experience in building high-end Web/Windows Forms solutions using Visual Studio 2005/2008.
· Understanding and knowledge of Windows Communication Foundation, Workflow Foundation.
· Should be knowledgeable about all the major class libraries and namespaces.
· Sound knowledge in designing and implementing Web Services.
· Solid experience with .NET framework, Visual Studio.NET, ASP.NET, VB.NET and C#.
· Possess extensive knowledge and understanding of XML documents, XSD schemas, XSLT to develop the necessary schemas and maps to represent the flow of the messages through the solution.
· Any other experience in other Microsoft server technologies such as BizTalk, SharePoint, Content Management is highly desirable.
· Knowledge of software development methodologies.
· Ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines.
· Ability to explain complex technical issues/concepts to non-technical people.
· Strong financial background necessary to understand accounting business rules in DakotaMotion linking to Microsoft Dynamics packages.

Education and Experience Requirements/Competencies
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies to perform the essential functions of this position along with effective oral and written communication skills, and excellent interpersonal skills.
A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Sciences or equivalent.
Minimum of 7 to 11 years as a Software Developer with object orientated languages.
Proficiency with ASP.NET, C# and service-based component architecture.
Minimum of two years experience with Microsoft .NET Technology
MS SQL Reporting Services experience.
SharePoint 2007 experience preferred.
Solid experience of high performance distributed application systems and performance testing.
Hands-on experience in developing large web applications.
In-depth experience with relational databases.
Solid understanding of Microsoft SQL and database concepts related to transactions and replication.
Knowledge of the commodities industry a plus.
Knowledge of logistics systems a plus.
Proficient in Project Management.
Ability to facilitate between multiple teams.
Ready to hit the ground running with the ability to take responsibility for tasks, start to finish and be goal- and deadline-oriented.
