Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities will include the mass spectrometric analysis of metabolites in samples generated during in vitro metabolic reactions as well as in various matrices, specifically bile and urine from dosed animals. The incumbent will not be responsible for the generation of samples for analysis, but must be knowledge as to study conduct and have extensive experience with predicting metabolic routes. Maintenance of equipment in a GLP-ready condition will be essential. Experience with quantitative analysis or the purpose of reaction phenotyping and/or in vitro inhibition or drug/drug interaction studies is a plus. Preparation of reports and other summary documents will be required.
The candidate should have proficiency in standard office computer software packages and any graphics packages needed to report out the spectroscopic results.
Position Requirements
Cephalon is seeking a PhD degree (2-5 years of experience) or MS degree (6-10 years) in drug metabolism, analytical chemistry, chemistry or related disciplines with experience in the identification of drug metabolites.
The successful candidate will have a proven record of in-depth determination of he metabolic routes of clearance for new drug candidates, and the ability to communicate those results to a broad range of discovery chemists/biologists. The use of several mass spectroscopic techniques and familiarity with a range of equipment types is essential.
