 Position Objectives

As a key member of PerkinElmer’s (PKI’s) global Internal Audit team, you will develop and implement an annual internal audit plan for the Company.  You will lead a variety of financial and operational audits that will result in recommended process improvements to strengthen PKI’s control environment, reduce our risk profile, and improve our business performance.  You will also provide leadership and support for PKI’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) initiative.  Your work activities require direct interaction with senior business and finance leaders throughout PKI. 

 Key Responsibilities Work with PKI finance and business leaders to assess key business and financial risks.  Develop and implement a robust Internal Audit plan for the Company.  Lead strategic, operational and financial audits in a teaming approach with other internal auditors from PKI or Ernst & Young (E&Y). Document findings and recommendations for review with senior management and PKI’s Audit Committee.Knowledge of the healthcare industry along with HIPAA compliance.Conduct investigations into suspected violations of PKI business policies.  Thoroughly analyze each situation to determine root cause and business impact.  Recommend corrective and preventative actions.  Document findings and recommendations for review with senior management and PKI’s Audit Committee. Support PKI’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) initiative.  Work with PKI business leaders to identify and analyze risk, and to develop and implement risk management plans.  Share the vision and purpose of ERM through presentations and training to employees and business leaders.Utilize leadership and interpersonal skills to periodically lead cross-functional project teams in a complex matrix environment.  Seek opportunities to coach, mentor, and develop leadership talent throughout PKI.Earn certification as a Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt.  Utilize Six Sigma tools and techniques to analyze and improve cross-functional business processes globally.Build a core competency in Internal Audit, Enterprise Risk Management, and a broad knowledge of PKI operations.  Earn certification as a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).  Create a robust internal audit process at PKI. Position requires frequent travel for Internal Audits throughout the globe (20-30% travel per month).Critical Success Factors

 Technical Skills & Education:  7+ years experience in an internal or external audit group or direct accounting experience in a global manufacturing environment.  Public company and prior management level experierence required.  Experience in health care industry is preferred.Education:  Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business, Finance, or Accounting. CPA, CIA, or MBA is a plus.  Certification in Six Sigma is a plus.Language Skills:  English is required. Citizenship: US citizen or Green Card is mandatory (required by US law to audit certain PKI sites).Communication Skills:  Effectively communicates with and engages all levels of the organization verbally and in writing; translates technical guidance into business terms and implications; produces clear, understandable documentation geared for all audiences. Interpersonal Skills: Comfortable around senior management.  Builds constructive and effective relationships.  Sensitive to cultural diversity.Management of Resources:  Demonstrates ability to be effective in a matrix-reporting environment.
