HistoryThe Company was founded in 1984 and in 1986, opened its laboratories at 180 Varick Street in New York City. In its early years, the Company focused on immunology-based diagnostics and infectious disease vaccines. This focus resulted in two FDA approved diagnostics and several vaccine research programs, all of which have been licensed to pharmaceutical companies. During the early nineties, the Company's focus shifted from diagnostics and infectious disease to the development of a pipeline of innovative, biologic compounds in the area of oncology. From this pipeline, three investigational monoclonal antibodies are being evaluated in various stages of clinical development. OperationsImClone Systems operates in two locations - its corporate and scientific headquarters at 180 Varick Street in New York City, which houses the Company's research and executive offices, and its campus in Branchburg, New Jersey. The Branchburg facility is home to the manufacturing, product development, finance, clinical, regulatory and quality assurance and commercial operations departments. This individual will work with the Project Leader, Project/CORE and Sub-Teams to prepare and implement Product Development Plans aligned with R&D objectives. The Project Manager will provide the comprehensive planning and information management system to enable Project/CORE Teams to deliver products of competitive value to the marketplace on time and on budget. 1. Work with Project Leader, Project/CORE and Sub-Teams to develop Product Development Plan defining target product profile, budget and timings (milestones) 2. Key role as deputy to Project Leader to assure consistent Project team management and liaison3. Provide comprehensive planning and tracking support for Project/CORE and Sub-Teams using state of the art Project Management expertise and software4. Monitor Project/CORE Team activities against Product Development Plan to identify deviations from planned timings, budget or scope. 5. Use appropriate communication tools to ensure that all project customers are informed of project status 6. Serve as Project Team secretariat preparing issue-driven agendas, minutes, and action lists for Team meetings7. Assure that project support activities of functional Sub-Teams (Commercial, Clinical, CMC, Pharmacology, Assay) are aligned with the Product Development Plan.8. Chair Project Subteams as appropriate to support Project team activities9. Responsible for integration of Project Support activities (drug supply forecasts, clinical trial supply requirements)10. Work with Finance and functional lines to build budgets and monitor actual vs. expected spend. 1. Science Degree (Biomedical/Pharmacy/Clinical) Advanced degree preferred2. 5+ years Healthcare Industry experience3. In-depth knowledge of the Pharmaceutical R&D process4. Strong interpersonal, communication (written and oral) and negotiation skills5. Demonstrated analytical and information technology skills and an understanding of project planning software6. Strong presentation skills7. Proficiency in managing multiple tasks and priorities8. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross functional team environment9.
