DescriptionThe Accounting Manager is a key finance team member who maintains compliance with accounting standards, financial controls and procedures which includes: accrual recognition, balance sheet account reconciliation, variance analysis, and financial statement preparation. Compliance with these items must be accomplished within the deadlines prescribed by management.Duties and Responsibilities• Oversee the general ledger and accounts payable functions including the oversight of three direct reports.• Oversee the general financial close process, the preparation of the monthly and quarterly financial statements and supporting schedules on a timely basis.• Responsible for the management and development of direct reports, including preparation of performance reviews and development plans.• Develop, implement and maintains systems, procedures and policies. • Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, supporting schedules and financial statements.• Maintain Sarbanes-Oxley compliance in the corporate accounting cycle, which will entail preparing process documentation, developing internal controls, and planning and implementing project plans.• Point person for internal and external audits by providing the required information and ensuring that proper information is maintained for historical purposes.• Help identify and document accounting issues including keeping current on technical accounting pronouncements and other guidance.• Special projects and other assignments as required.Required ExperienceA. Education/Certification • BS/BA degree or higher in Accounting or Finance• CPA required B. Experience• 8 + years of relevant experience with a proven record of responsibility and growth• Experience in a Big 4 firm or U.S. based multinational highly preferred• Prior experience in pharmaceutical industry a plus • 5+ years experience managing staffTotal Rewards:
