Security Officer Lead
Under general supervision, provides oversight of/guidance to proprietary and contractsecurity officers assigned to their shift. Core responsibilities include: ensuring all active security stations are staffed and operating properly, key decision making and ensuring appropriatenotifications occur in the event of notable incidents and/or emergencies. Compiling reports,inspecting equipment and communicating shift activity information to the Supervisor and/or Manager, Security. Personnel at this level will serve as a “bridge” between general level security officers and the Supervisor and/or Manager, Security.Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, procedures,and state, federal and local laws.Conducts and/or oversees on-the-job training for all new security personnel assigned towork during their respective shift(s).Assists Supervisor, Security with shift scheduling.Coordinates with contract security vendor to ensure posts are appropriately staffed at alltimes.Identifies areas where additional training I needed by subordinate security staff andoversees such training.Ensures appropriate personnel are contacted and necessary measures are taken in theevent of an emergency.Provides initial counseling and guidance to security staff.Ensures accurate information is passed on to each succeeding shift and all personnel areup-to-date on current security activities and procedural changes.Provides briefings on all security activities/shift occurrences to Supervisor, Security.Respond to emergencies in a timely fashion. Assume role as an Incident commanderand ensure all necessary protocols are observed.Render emergency medical care and ensure proper medical attention is provided (i.e.ambulance response).Conduct inspections of security posts and equipment. Identify and rectify deficiencies.Complete various reports and logs.Liaison with contract security company for purposes of scheduling and securityoperational issues.Liaison with local services (police, fire and ambulance).Performs related duties as assigned.QualificationsKnowledge of:Comprehensive knowledge of industrial security concepts and principles.CPR and First Aid Certified.Computer skills including MS Office and ability to learn various other Windows basedprograms.Comprehensive understanding of alarm, CCTV, and access control systems.Skill in:Proper English usage, grammar, spelling and punctuation (read, write and speak Englishfluently).Communicating clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.Ability to lead and coordinate the work of subordinate personnel.Ability to counsel and guide subordinate personnel in a constructive manner.Organize and prioritize assigned work duties.Maintain strict confidentiality.Interpret and closely follow instructions and procedures.Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with individual contacted in thecourse of work.Work well under pressure, make decisions, organize personnel and resolve isues withminimum supervision.Supervisory skills.Ensuring compliance with all Company policies and procedures, including safety rulesand regulations.Analyzing and troubleshooting problems, identifying solutions, and recommending andimplementing methods, procedures, systems and/or techniques for resolution.High School diploma or equivalent GED Certificate, in addition to five (5) years of Security Officer experience, preferably in a high traffic manufacturing environment;or, an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
