Allegis Group, Inc. - Corporate Location: San Diego, CA 92152 Position Type: Full Time, Employee Job Category: Biotech/R&D/Science Scientist/Senior Scientist- Toxicology Job Description: -Participates in early clinical candidate selection and characterization in support of Phase I trials -Develop and manage integrated nonclinical safety programs and activities to support clinical plans from early development through IND submission -Represent the Development Department at project team meetings and various committee meetings -Prepare regulatory documents (study reports, IB’s, IND’s) -Partners with both internal and external experts to develop nonclinical strategies for drug discovery pipeline -Identify and apply novel technologies and expertise to enhance drug discovery research programs -Work with CMC team to ensure supply of appropriate nonclinical test materials -Provide leadership to resolve scientific issues in all aspects of nonclinical safety testing -Take initiative to resolve nonclinical study operational issues and maintain project timelines -May interact with FDA on nonclinical mattersSkills: -Ph.D. in life sciences or D.V.M. degree with minimum 5 years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical toxicology or safety pharmacology, OR -MS in life sciences with minimum 12 years of relevant experience, OR -BS in life sciences with minimum 15 years of relevant experience -Demonstrated experience in toxicology/pharmacology related to all stages of drug development, including regulatory submissions -Ability to critically evaluate drug candidates’ strengths and weaknesses -Ability to integrate information from scientific disciplines, ability to address multiple projects -Prior experience on drug discovery/development project teams -Thorough understanding of GLP regulations is required -Successfully prepared nonclinical sections of IND submissions -Experience working with contract laboratories, study directors and monitoring CRO conducted nonclinical safety studies -Experience in oncology or metabolic disease research is an advantageDABT or ATS certification desired Required Skills: TOXICOLOGYPeople.
