Scientist/Senior Scientist - PK/PD

Boston, MA 02101 Biotech/R&D/Science Job SummaryThe successful candidate will utilize their PK/PD experience to support drug discovery projects in the Infection area. The candidate will be responsible for independently designing and implementing studies to determine the pharmacological properties of novel antibiotic compounds.Specific responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to: * Utilize PK/PD modeling skills to assess pharmacological properties of novel antibacterial compounds * Participate in planning and conduct of in vitro and in vivo studies * Analyze and interpret results of studies conducted in both in vitro and in vivo models * Working collaboratively with members of team to ensure that multiple studies are completed to agreed timelines * Planning studies and timing of studies * Interacting with project teams to provide understanding of pharmacological attributes of novel compounds * Presenting data and interpretations of data to discovery teams. * Recording and archiving data in appropriate secure archives.Responsibilities* MSc/PhD in pharmaceutical science or closely related discipline with 0 – 2 years of experience. * Experience with in vitro PK/PD models of antimicrobial agents * Knowledge of and experience with appropriate computational data analysis tools (e.g., WinNonLin) * Good written and verbal communication and good organizational skills. * Strong communication skills and a commitment to teamwork. * Strong understanding of design and analysis of preclinical PK/PD studies. * Strong working knowledge of aseptic techniques as well as general microbiology techniques is very desirable. * Experience with development and use of animal models would be desirable * Experience with microdialysis techniques would be advantageous We want you to build a balanced life at AstraZeneca.
