Within our Medicinal Chemistry Group in Emeryville, CA., we have an opening for a individual with a MS in chemistry, preferably 10+ years medicinal chemistry experience in the pharmaceutical industry, a demonstrated proficiency in the preparation of complex organic molecules and a proven track record in contributing within multidisciplinary drug discovery project teams. In addition to being proficient in preparation of organic molecules, the applicant must be experienced in the use of HPLC, LCMS, IR and NMR instrumentation and the interpretation of the data generated as required for the analysis and characterization of organic molecules. The successful applicant will become a member of Medicinal Chemistry Group and will be expected to integrate into one of our multidisciplinary project teams. As such, (s)he will be expected to perform innovative research to aid in the discovery and development of novel therapeutically relevant compounds. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required for communication and direction of assistants, presentation of scientific results at team and project meetings, maintenance of laboratory notebooks, writing of experimental protocols and patents, and preparation of internal/external reports. Limited travel may be required. Title and compensation commensurate with experience.
