Scientist I - Product Development
SeraCare Life Sciences develops, manufactures, and sells a broad range of biological based materials and services essential for the manufacture of diagnostic tests, commercial bioproduction of therapeutic drugs, and additional research applications in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and diagnostic industries.
Position Summary: Position will perform as a technical lead in Product Development of reagents used to assay cellular immunity and in ELISA-based assays. Must be capable of independently planning and executing scientific experiments. Must be capable of first level data analysis and competent in data presentation. Position will also support Manufacturing serving as a technical resource in production of ELISA, Western Blot, and ELISPOT assays. Position is highly cross-functional and will require excellent communication skills during daily interfaces with Manufacturing, QA, and Marketing groups.
Qualifications: Masters degree in Biochemistry, Immunlogy or related science. Minimum of 2-4 years R&D experience in academia or industry. Experience and/or familiarity with flow cytometry, mammalian cell culture, Western Blots, ELISA, ELISPOT, protein chemistry and general cellular biology techniques preferred. cGMP experience a plus. MS Office experience required. Statistical software analysis ( i.e. JMP) a plus. Must be able to read, write and comprehend the English language.
