Participates/assists in the execution of non-routine experiments. Performs all work in conformance with applicable regulations. Performs all work in a safe manner. Works primarily within the laboratory environment.Duties and Responsibilities: Initiates and completes routine procedures in an efficient manner with supervision; Operates and is responsible for lab equipment. This position will involve conducting in vitro studies to evaluate the metabolism of new drug candidates. Demonstrates technical ability to assist in the execution of non-routine experiments and procedures. Experiments will involve conducting incubations, analysis by mass spectrometry (LC/MS/MS) and florescence detection, data handling and report writing. Understands and applies basic scientific principles with guidance Demonstrates the ability to correctly analyze and interpret outcome of experiments. Studies can include measuring rates of metabolism, assessing the potential for enzyme inhibition and induction, identification of metabolite structures, and working with hepatocytes. Communicates own work orally and in writing and provides input for scientific reports Reports and treats data with a high level of integrity and ethics Complies with applicable regulations, performing all work in a safe manner; Maintains proper records in accordance with SOPs and policies. Studies will involve safe and careful handling of potentially biohazardous material and therefore attention to detail is important. Experience conducting these types of studies is an advantage not a requirement. Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree or Masters Degree in Biological Sciences, Pharmacology, Chemistry or a relevant scientific discipline or equivalent experience in a related field Demonstrates knowledge of field Ability to operate laboratory equipment and apparatus Ability to learn new technology and concepts Concise and accurate reporting of technical data and information Ability to troubleshoot Written and verbal communication skills Appropriate level of understanding of applicable regulations Corporate Site
