Scientific Affairs Liaison, CNS (Ohio Valley- Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana) - (Job Number: 0809817) DescriptionOrtho-McNeil Janssen Scientific Affairs, L.L.C., a member of Johnson and Johnson's Family of Companies, is recruiting for a Scientific Affairs Liaison, to cover the Ohio Valley- Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana. Ortho-McNeil Janssen Scientific Affairs, L.L.C. is dedicated to providing medical information and consultative support to a number of J&&J's pharmaceutical companies. The company's mission is to create the pre-eminent model of scientific excellence in the promotion of public health. The Scientific Affairs Liaison (SAL) is responsible for providing fair balanced, objective, scientific information and education to health care customers and to internal business partners as required by business needs. The SAL is responsible for building external relationships with recognized clinician and research experts in therapeutic and managed markets/health care systems areas of interest to identify and address scientific information needs and stay abreast of current scientific trends. Extensive planning will be required to effectively manage multiple, concurrent priorities. The SAL is expected to identify the best solution from several possible approaches and make a recommendation to the supervisor for action. The recommendations are expected to emphasize creative solutions that minimize the need for incremental resources and support the company's scientific objectives. In addition, the SAL will: Develop an understanding of regional and national thought leaders and the health care environments in which they work, work collaboratively with internal business partners to meet scientific needs of customers and maximize the use of resources to support scientific initiatives. The SAL will provide scientific information/education to health care providers and payor systems; Develop peer relationships with KOLS/investigators/health care systems to meet their scientific needs; Identify and facilitate new business/research opportunities; Interpret and deliver scientific voice of customer; Address Public Health Sector issues as requested; and facilitate understanding of company resources. The SAL must be well versed in responsible therapeutic areas through appropriate training, be able to demonstrate competency in these areas through written and verbal communications and assessments and clearly and effectively convey scientific information. The SAL must be adept at prioritizing issues and opportunities based on customer needs, taking ownership and demonstrating accountability. Interpreting data and new information in order to better understand situations and draw appropriate conclusions and to develop innovative scientific solutions to meet health care providers' needs. The SAL will maintain a thorough understanding and demonstrate competence in the following areas: OMJSA and Scientific Affairs Field (SAF) mission, vision and operating principles; relevant operating company scientific data and objectives; relevant market dynamics and competitive landscape; regulatory and health care compliance guidelines affecting SAF and pharmaceutical industry; corporate policies on appropriate business conduct and ethical behavior; all SOPs and guidelines affecting SAF; all requirements for appropriate behavior and documentation of activities. Perform all administrative requirements in a timely, accurate compliant manner (e.g. expense reports, documentation of unsolicited requests for information); and complete all required and relevant exams with an acceptable passing score. This position will cover the Ohio Valley- Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana. Travel is dependant upon customer needs. A minimum of a Doctorate degree is required (Pharm.D., M.D., PhD., PsyD., in relevant scientific area). A minimum of 2 years experience in a Clinical setting/Clinical practice is required (Includes residency and fellowship). Therapeutic experience/expertise in CNS (Neurology, Psychiatry, Mental health, etc) therapeutic area is strongly preferred. Pharmaceutical Industry experience is desirable. Knowledge of healthcare delivery systems and their various components preferred. Ability to organize, prioritize, and work effectively in a constantly changing environment. A valid US driver's license and a clean driving record is required, as incumbent in this role will receive a company car. Travel by airplane and some overnight travel required.
