Sample Management Technician - (Job Number: 0809175) DescriptionCentocor Research and Development, a member of Johnson && Johnson's Family of Companies, is recruiting for a Sample Management Technician, located in Radnor, PA. Centocor Research and Development, develops innovative biomedicines. This position requires the employee to work under general supervision in collaboration with others to ensure proper receipt, handling and storage of frozen Biomarker samples in support of clinical and investigation timelines. Primary responsibilities include the management of the Biomarker freezer inventory system (software, delegation, and backend maintenance). Adhering to GLP regulations are also primary functions of this position. Secondary responsibilities include the management of the Biomarker Sample Storage Center assets (freezers, chart recorders, handheld scanners, thermometers). Is also responsible for adhering to the processes for the receipt, tracking and transfer of all study samples. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:1. Using tracking software, receive and inventory frozen laboratory samples sent from central laboratory or Clin Pharm Sciences freezers, ensuring that each shipment is complete. Samples should be stored in a timely fashion to prevent thawing.2. Be willing and have the ability to assist other in training in the SSC functions. Take greater responsibility for the process in the SSC.3. Functions as a link between Supervisor, co-workers, and clients, ensuring open communication regarding samples, timelines and workflow.4. Communicate issues/problems with shipments to the Supervisor/Manager of the Sample Storage Center and assist in resolution of issues.5. Ensure Compliance with Centocor standards, GLP and DOT guidelines for the handling and shipping of dangerous goods.6. Assist in the training of new hires. Education: Requires at least a High school diploma with at least 3yrs related experience, or a BS with at least 1yr. related experience. Related Experience: Prior sample management experience is helpful, but not required. Experience working in a GLP environment is preferred. Prior Pharma/Biopharm experience is a plus.
