Covance is looking for a Senior level Sales and Marketing professional responsible for leading recruiting for the Sales & Marketing function globally. Will be responsible for multiple locations and/or business units and serves as the key liaison with business unit(s) and the recruitment function. Leads projects of significant scope. Interacts with Senior Management, both HR and the Line, in a strategic as well as tactical manner. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: - Facilitates and drives recruiting process with hiring manager (sourcing, interviewing and selection) for a wide range of positions, including senior level positions. Develops innovative sourcing solutions. Consistently evaluates current and new sourcing opportunities. Develops and maintains an effective recruiting network (e.g., job fair recruiting, conference or meeting attendance, trade journal use, interactive/online networking and relationships with agencies and vendors). Consults/collaborates with business units to create, implement and lead recruiting plans and strategies. Maintains open communication with managers and business unit HR in determining recruiting needs. Acts in a leadership capacity (either directly or indirectly) with recruitment function and hiring managers through guidance and direction setting consistent with overall Covance principles. - Initiates, leads and implements projects of significant scope and impact to the recruiting function. Key contact for business units’ recruiting support. - Communicates recruiting initiatives to business unit HR, employees and management at all levels. This may include public speaking. Trains and orientates supervisors and employees with respect to recruiting procedures, effective interviewing skills, and applicable laws. Maintains legally required files for job openings and candidate selection. Produces requested information for monthly reports as needed. Ensures metrics are achieved within Service Level Agreement. Experience:Attention to detail, organization and follow up skills are critical to this position. Resourceful, decisive and proactive. Leads by example in supporting change. Results oriented with excellent organizational skills while working in an environment that requires a high degree of multi-tasking. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with capability to utilize these in developing effective interpersonal relationships. -•Able to interact and build relationships with senior management. Well-developed client management skills. - Excellent interpersonal qualities, including problem solving, influencing, negotiating, facilitating and strong partnership skills. Teams with business units and HR to accomplish results. Ability to work well with others and approaches job responsibilities considering all team members (within department and external to department). Ability to work with team members and hiring managers in a “virtual” setting. Will be physically remote from some recruiting team members, hiring managers and/or supervisor. Ability to deal with unusual or unexpected issues in an independent manner; ability to multi-task several priorities simultaneously. Demonstrated project management experience with ability to work with a multi-functional team. Demonstrated facilitation and presentation skills; willingness and capability to conduct presentations. Logical and analytical thinking skills; ability to apply these to developing practical, yet creative problem-solving approaches. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately. Strong basic computer skills (Microsoft Office software, PeopleSoft). Extensive knowledge of recruiting technology. Desired experience in both agency and corporate. Need to be flexible with working hours. 15% to 25% travel to colleges, job fairs, scientific conferences and other sites.
