PROCESS CHEMIST

 

The incumbent will be expected to perform activities that support pharmaceutical process research and development projects including defining and demonstrating process routes, drafting process outlines, optimizing processes and supporting scale-up research.  The research chemist will also be expected to collaborate on the development of synthetic processes that will be scaled to meet the needs of clinical development.  All work performed will be expected to comply with applicable health, safety, environmental and cGMP/GLP requirements.  The research chemist will interact with project teams to ensure project timelines are met with an emphasis on quality and regulatory compliance.



 

Position Requirements:

BS, MS in organic or medicinal chemistry or related discipline

3+ years experience in a pharmaceutical process development environment.  Experience in a contract research organization would be a plus.

Strong knowledge of chemical synthesis, process development and scale-up

Experience working in a GMP/GLP environment

Strong verbal and written communication skills

 

 

SCIENTIST/Sr. SCIENTIST, PROCESS CHEMITSRY

 

The Scientist/Sr. Scientist, Process Chemistry will be expected to perform research, and experimentation on synthetic processes for such purposes as product and process development, scale-up and process improvement. The incumbent will also maintain the laboratory and all documentation within GLP/cGMP guidelines. In addition, this individual performs complex activities and applies basic understanding of scientific data/ literature in areas related to organic and process chemistry. He/she is expected to present ideas for modifying existing procedures and suggest alternative routes for improving process results and provide solutions to a variety of problems.  Responsibilities include: applying basic scientific principles and techniques to complete assigned complex experimental activities related to process development and receive limited supervision on specified tasks, develop and execute DOE, solve technical problems within the scope of the assignments, show ingenuity in resolving problems, serve as a mentor to chemistry staff, evaluate customer proposals for feasibility, prepare batch records and project reports; Experience with Process Analytical Technolgoy will be a plus.

 

Position Requirements:

MS or Ph.D in organic, medicinal or synthetic chemistry or related discipline

5+ years (MS) or 3+ years (Ph.D.) experience in a pharmaceutical or chemical process development environment. 

Experience in a contract research organization would be a plus.

Strong knowledge of process chemistry techniques and analytical instrumentation

Experience working in a GMP/GLP environment

Strong verbal and written communication skills
