Research or Senior Research Investigator - Process Research
EISAI RESEARCH INSTITUTE
Eisai’s corporate philosophy focuses on meeting the diverse needs of patients and their families and increasing the benefits that health care provides. We express this philosophy with the phrase “human health care,” and continue to concentrate efforts on its realization worldwide. Throughout the company’s 67 years of operation, drug discovery has been an integral part of its mission to advance human health care for patients and their families, as well as a major contributor to Eisai’s success. Today, Eisai is Japan’s fourth largest pharmaceutical company, ranking in the top 25 worldwide. Eisai’s global R & D efforts are focused in several therapeutic areas, including central nervous system, oncology, gastrointestinal, and inflammatory diseases. Eisai Research Institute (ERI) in Andover, MA, is the center for Eisai’s U.S. research and development, with an emphasis on finding new treatments for immune disorders and cancer.
Process Research – Research or Senior Research Investigator
ERI is searching for a highly motivated and accomplished synthetic organic chemist to join our Process Research department as a Research or Senior Research Investigator. You will independently contribute to the conception and design of new synthetic routes for active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and intermediates, evaluate and prioritize research efforts within broader project objectives, and identify and introduce new experimental techniques and research initiatives. It is expected that candidates will apply their knowledge and expertise to the solution of significant project challenges. Candidates must be excellent team players with the ability to work in an interdisciplinary environment, have a proven ability to perform multi-step organic syntheses, and possess outstanding oral and written communication skills in order to communicate effectively across disciplines. A Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry is required, and postdoctoral or related industrial experience, with a solid publication record, is a plus.
Eisai offers an outstanding compensation package, including 401(k) match.
