Research Associate IV / Scientist , Antibody Research/Protein Therapeutics (Depending on Experience)

Works independently on projects involving the discovery of antibodies using Alexion's phage display platform. Clones and expresses recombinant target proteins for immunization, clones out antibody repertoires from immunized rodents and uses to derive phage antibody libraries. Designs and executes panning strategies to obtain antibodies with the desired level of potency and selectivity. Carries out general cloning to generate protein and cell reagents necessary for downstream triage of antibody leads. Humanizes murine antibody leads using Alexion know-how and conducts additional antibody engineering as necessary to optimize PD/PK properties. Visa Sponsorship Not Available For This Position Education Requirement: BS/MS with 8 to 12 years relevant experience in molecular biology or a Ph.D. in molecular biology or related discipline. Hands-on expertise with the use of phage display for the identification of protein binders is highly desired.
