Our client, a scientific organization specializing in medical devices is seeking a Research Assistant to join them at their Langhorne, PA location. This is a great opportunity for someone at the beginning of their career, who is looking to gain additional knowledge and experience. Position Description:The Research Assistant I (RA) will be primarily responsible for conducting laboratory experiments within Research and Development as well as performing and documenting routine quality testing. The RA will also be responsible for maintaining a safe and clean laboratory environment and ordering supplies. The RA will interface with other areas of the company including Operations and Marketing.1. Coordinate, perform and document studies followed by summation and reporting of data. 2. Conduct literature research needed to gather background information for a given R&D project.3. Perform and document routine quality testing to support development materials and final product release.4. Maintain a laboratory notebook and detailed documentation of experiments5. Maintain an orderly and safe R&D laboratory including materials procurement.6. Other such duties may be assignedQualifications:1. A minimum of 1 year experience in R&D or quality laboratory for development of health care related products is desired. Experience in research and development of biomaterials for medical devices is a plus.2. A Bachelors Degree in Chemistry, Engineering or Biology is preferred. General knowledge of chemistry and biology as it applies to medical devices is desired.3. Knowledge and experience with UV/Vis, titrations, Instron testing, Karl-Fisher and wet chemistry is highly desired.4. Experience working in an FDA-regulated environment is desired.5. Interpersonal skills and ability to multi-task are also desired for the position. 6. Excellent problem solving, communication and writing skills are required.7.
