Regulatory Analyst

 

We have a great opportunity for you as a Regulatory Analyst. The person will analyze regulatory concerns for products. Code product for both US and CA. Review regulations regarding hazardous shipping of products for the warehouses. Assists warehouse personnel in shipping regulation interpretations.  Assist in hazardous reporting. Counsel associates on regulatory concerns. Create new ways in which the organization can comply with government regulations. Keep informed of the regulatory changes that occur and implement the necessary changes.

 

Responsibilities Include:

Product Review and Coding for North America, including maintain proper coding on Hazardous Materials for Transportation.

Provide regulatory support for internal personnel for the following topics:  shipping and storage of hazardous materials, DOT compliance and safety, classification of hazardous products and packaging Compliance.

Work with carriers, and Transportation to ensure shipping requirements are in place for safe shipping and to help reduce the errors in shipping of our products. 

Ensure compliance with Hazardous Material Shipping Regulations.

Monitor New Regulation changes for IATA, DOT, TDG, IMDG, etc. 

Provide regulatory guidance as requested to carriers and shippers. 

Make necessary changes to existing data due to new information from the regulations or from the vendors for hazardous materialsMaintain DOT Special Provision file

Miscellaneous projects as needed

 The qualified candidates will have the following qualifications:

 

BS degree in a Science Background with 1-3 years of Regulatory experience preferred. Chemical knowledge and hazardous materials knowledge preferred. Training in the following regulations preferred: DOT, IATA, TDG.

Knowledge of Canadian, Mexico, Puerto Rico and export regulations a plus.

 

Other Qualifications:

-Knowledge of regulatory controls of chemicals and authorities that control products

-Good communication and investigational skills

-Ability to review regulations, interpret government rulings on regulation changes and apply to our business.

-Decision-making skills.

-Independent thinking skills.

-Canadian regulation knowledge a plus
