Job Overview:
ATMI is seeking a Regional Sales Representative. Reporting to the US Director of Sales and Marketing for ATMI Life Sciences, this position is “The Face of ATMI” to our customers. This Regional Sales Representative will, with the other members of ATMI's sales team, be responsible for the establishment of ATMI Life Sciences, North America as a leading supplier to the Life Sciences market. This position requires a self starter with excellent communication and people skills, who can build and nurture successful long term customer relationships. The successful candidate must be able to set and achieve aggressive sales and profitability goals, multi-task, travel extensively within their region, and provide creative input. This position will be located out of a home office in the New England area of the US, covering the dynamically developing New England Biopharmaceutical manufacturing market.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Develop, set and achieve aggressive sales and profitability targets in the defined sales region of New England and New York state;
· Analyze and articulate customer and market needs, developing relationships with customers and managing customer accounts to meet and exceed sales goals;
· Develop, write and implement customer focused sales and business plans based on market knowledge and overall business performance criteria. These plans will include strategic directions and goals established locally, as well as those established jointly with the ATMI management team;
· Help plan and implement staffing and resource requirements for the Life Sciences organization;
· Prepare and manage annual budgets for the defined sales region;
· Work with other members of the ATMI sales and management teams to establish and implement both Strategic and Tactical Key Account Management Programs;
· Assist in development and implementation of a tactical marketing plan for the defined sales region;
· Work with a US and Internationally based Product Management team to develop short and long term product development requirements to meet both the strategic and tactical goals of the business;
· Prepare and present sales projections and forecasts of sale within the defined area, including budget planning for the following fiscal year;
· Occasional national and international travel will be required.
Education/Experience:
· A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in a Life Science subject or comparable work experience required;
· Minimum 5 years sales experience and a proven successful track record of selling disposable products and systems into the US Biopharmaceutical industry is essential;
· Experience in Key Account Management is preferred;
· Experience in formally presenting corporate strategies, product and application solutions to a technical audience is desired;
· Solid working experience with MS Office and a CRM database (ACT, Oracle, etc.) required;
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills essential;
· Ability to read and speak French or Spanish would be advantageous.
