Position Overview
To meet rapidly growing demand for complex market analysis and strategy consulting, TZG seeks a dynamic, intellectually curious, high-integrity professional to join its growing Consulting Practice as a Principal. This position works directly with clients to provide value added input, to develop business opportunities that will lead to additional work, and to deliver projects built around clients’ strategic issues. Has responsibility for ensuring delivery of high levels of client satisfaction. Meets or exceeds assigned sales and revenue targets.
Essential Job Functions
· Identifies, qualifies, and closes new business opportunities at existing and potential clients
· Maintains primary ownership of client relationships and responsibility for client satisfaction for all engagements
· Meets or exceeds assigned financial targets, including business development and engagement profitability
· Leads the development of proposals to ensure thoughtful, well-designed, and profitable solutions to clients’ strategic business challenges
· Manages client interaction and assures that project teams achieve profitable and effective project implementation
· Oversees and manage a portfolio of concurrent engagements, including management of project timelines, deliverables, and related functions
· Facilitates and oversee development of client deliverables and participation in delivery of final reports as appropriate
· Mentors and develops consulting staff and project team members
Ultimately, the success of the Regional Principal will reflect his or her contributions to the growth and success of TZG’s strategy and consulting engagements, achievement of project and company objectives, and the continued growth and development of the company’s intellectual capital. Given the importance of close collaboration with other colleagues and with clients, the candidate’s fit with company values and culture represents an important determinant of success.
Requirements
· MBA, MPA, MS or other advanced degree from a top institution, preferably in engineering, economics, statistics, business administration, public health or the life sciences
· A strong record of academic and professional achievement
· At least 10 years experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industries, or in management consulting or a related field focused on those industries
· Knowledge of consulting methods, techniques, and methodologies
· Familiarity with market data streams, including data products from IMS and Wolters Kluwer
· In depth and long standing relationships with client companies on the East Coast, especially with senior decision-making personnel in brand management, sales, sales operations
· Strong skills with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access)
· Familiarity with advanced quantitative and analytic skills, including facility with SPSS and statistical analysis. Experience with advanced research methods and techniques a plus
· Outstanding strategic and critical thinking skills, and the ability to communicate complex information effectively
· Exemplary business development skills
· Superior writing skills and a strong interest in effective communication
· Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated effectiveness working across functions and geographies
· Unusual intellectual curiosity and creativity, reflected in a broad range of interests and excellent analytic abilities
· Background in the managed care industry or payer market dynamics highly desirable

Work Environment
Candidates will need to manage and prioritize multiple projects and tasks in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility is important, as is the ability to meet deadlines.
Personally, applicants should have high energy, a positive attitude, and the ability to work well with a variety of people. Initiative is critical; a sense of humor is very helpful.
